Inspired by Nature
This body of work was inspired by a lifelong connection to the beauty of nature and the out of doors. The shapes, glazes and textures are chosen to reflect nature’s color schemes, self-organized patterns and the variety within.
Plates, dishes, trays and platters are created using traditional handbuilding techniques. Each one begins as a slab of clay, cut and shaped by hand sometimes with the use of a plaster mold. Bowls begin as wedged balls of clay, weighed to suit the piece and thrown on a pottery wheel.
All materials used are dishwasher and microwave safe.
